OLIVIA SPENCER

TRANSITION SPECIALIST

Transition has been a passion for Olivia since working towards her undergraduate degree in Special Education at Western Carolina University. After graduating and becoming a special education teacher for students with intellectual disabilities in a public middle school, she had a deepened passion for high quality transition planning and sought a Masters Degree in Secondary Special Education and Transition from the University of Kansas. Olivia has six years of teaching students with significant intellectual disabilities, ages 14-22, across two states, both in private and public school settings. Meeting families where they are in the transition journey, and providing excellent consultation and planning to ensure a successful future for individuals with disabilities is her passion.

ANA VANCEA

Ana Vancea lives in Chicago, Illinois where she works as a Special Education Case Manager. Ana attended the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign for both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees, in Special Education and Curriculum and Instruction, respectively. Ana works as a virtual special education tutor at Able Transition and supports clients in an amazing way! She enjoys traveling in her free time, with her favorite most recent places being Dubrovnik, Croatia and Chiang Mai, Thailand! She also spend time visiting her family during the summer in Romania, where she was born! When in her home city of Chicago, she enjoys trying out new restaurants, attending Sunday morning yoga, and walking along the lakefront Lake Michigan!

CECE ROBESON

BUSINESS MANAGER

CeCe is our incredible business manager for Able Transition. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations from NC State University. CeCe has worked for non-profits and has been an administrative executive in many organizations. CeCe is an incredible asset to our team and is incredible at supporting and caring for our clients. CeCe puts her communication degree to use to work every day with Able Transition. CeCe enjoys knitting, sowing new plants, and caring for her garden in her free time!

ASHLIE MACDONALD
MS, CCC-SLP

SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Ashlie earned her Master’s in Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has enjoyed a 20-year career in NC Public Schools, working with students in preschool through high school. Much of Ashlie’s time is spent providing therapy and classroom support for middle and high school students with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disabilities. She utilizes a variety of strategies to broaden individuals’ range of communication skills, including verbal communication as well as augmentative and alternative communication. Ashlie’s ideal client would be an individual or family desiring support in developing greater independence with communication and social interactions to improve the overall quality of life.

DIANA JOHNSON

TRANSLATOR

Diana earned her Bachelors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She loves UNC and is still such a huge fan! She enjoys connecting and serving the community around her, and she uses her Spanish speaking skills to provide care and support to families. She has worked for many amazing non-profits and supported countless families. Diana is an incredible translator and provides access to families to these essential services. She currently lives in Raleigh, NC with her family.

JAY JARRETT MORALES

BEHAVIORAL THERAPIST

Jay is a board-certified behavior analyst. She works with Able Transition Consulting under a parent-training model.

Parent Training Model:

This model is geared to address short-term behavioral needs and behavior reduction this way. Jay can teach parents generalization skills this way, providing more flexibility.  

Parents need to be able to engage with their child's needs and understand neurodivergent-affirming care.

Ways Jay can support you:
 

  1. ABA Education. Jay will review ABC principles, the four functions of behaviors, and reinforcements versus punishments. Then, she phases out.

  2. Problem-Solving Behavioral Support: 

    1. Parents will report the problem and what they are doing at home

    2. Jay will provide solutions and options

      1. What to do, what not to do

  3. Consultation as needed
